Old versions of PP will plot the new CPDLC fixes in red as an unknown report type. Position reports originating in CPDLC messages are encoded as report type 22 in View.Aircraft and such plots are colour coded as chocolate in View.Chart.
The same downlink also carries CPDLC traffic from aircraft and this release of PlanePlotter makes use of those messages when they give positions for the aircraft. The optional display of Inmarsats has been pruned to show only the four satellites that are currently delivering the traffic that we monitor (Alphasat, 3F5, 4F1, 4F3).įor some time, PlanePlotter has been able to process the Inmarsat downlink from Jaero that carries ADS-C traffic and plain language ACARS traffic. Please don't write to me about it write to your security system provider and ask them to make their program smarter. Be aware that an increasing number of security systems treat any new file as a threat without any justification except that it is new. If you have a version-specific firewall (eg Zone Alarm), you may have to reassure it that the new version is permitted to access the Internet. Nic's installer will warn you if PlanePlotter is still running when you try to install the new version. You can install the new version over the old one but you *must* close/exit PlanePlotter before installing the new one. If you post a message complaining that the web site is still pointing to an earlier version, you pay a forfeit!
You may need to exercise your browser Refresh function to force it to show you the new version of the PlanePlotter web page. PlanePlotter version 6.4.7.9 is on the web site today.
